This site and its contents would never have come about if I’d gone in to the project on my own.

A club’s greatest asset is always its supporters and Billericay Town is no different.  A large percentage of those that go home and away have been watching the club since the 1970’s and 80’s. A few can boast to having played for Town even before this.

Ryan Connell has been watching the club for over 30 years and has spent a lot of time compiling a list of the clubs’ results since the club gained senior status.  It is his work that formed the basis of this website.

Mark Kettlety has been collecting details of the club’s history for years.  He produced the matchday programmes in the past and provided a seasons worth of results from the 1960’s for this website.

Keith Riley has been a Town fan since the early 1970’s and has a library of programmes and newspaper clippings.  He has shared a lot of facts, knowledge and photos that have found their way on to the site. He was awarded the Len Dewson Award in 2017.

Nigel Harris was a walking encyclopaedia of Billericay Town history.  He first saw them in 1968 and was a regular from the early 1970’s until his death in December 2018.  Nigel could remember people and events from matches going back over 40 years.  He was a face at the club and in the town and is often talked about and thought of by Blues fans.

Ron Symes has been involved with Billericay Town since 1960 when he moved to the area.  As well as being a gentleman he is also a reliable source of detail and has helped put many facts straight.

Peter White was a goal keeper in the higher levels of non-league football and played for Billericay Town in the 1960’s.  He was instrumental in bringing John Newman to Billericay Town and later went on to be the chairman of the football club in the 1970’s.  Peter has many memories and plenty to say on the club.

Derek Hanks played for the club during the 1950’s and was chairman of the social club during the 1970’s.  Derek has given us stories from the 1950’s about the team and Archer’s Field.  He has also helped to identify some of the players from that time.

Chris Jennings and Les Bridge played for the club in the 1950’s and 60’s.  They have helped put names to faces from the 1950’s team.  Chris also managed the clubhouse during the 1970’s.

Chris’s son Paul has added detail to matches from the 1980’s and was one of three fans, with Keith Riley, that produced the ‘Cowshed Blues’ fanzine during the early 1980’s.

John Mapp is another long-term Blues fan, and another of the ‘Cowshed Blues’ team.  John has provided detail from matches, and about players, going back to the 1980’s.

Rob Debenham helped compile another, more infamous, club fanzine with Ryan Connell.  Rob provided images of the ‘Cowshed Blues’ fanzine and can provide detail on club history going back many years.

Caroline Connell has supported the Blues for many years and remembers players, good and bad, without a bad word to say about any of them.  Caroline's work as a member of the BTSS and for arranging away travel was recognised when she was announced as the 2019 winner of the Len Dewson Award.

Mark Baker is one of the younger long-term supporters but he spent several years volunteering with the club in his youth and has stories and memories from his time as a member of backroom staff.

Mark Wallis of the Essex FA has been kind enough to share county and club history.

Lucy Jones has been a regular in the Women's Team for a few seasons now.  Without her help I wouldn't have been able to build up such a detailed record of the Women's results, appearances and goals from the last few seasons.
