CONSECUTIVE WINS


In All Competitions

Billericay Town won 2-0 away at Egham Town in the Isthmian League Second Division on 13th October 1979.  They then went on a winning running until they drew 0-0 in Hornchurch on New Years Day 1980.  They won 18 consecutive matches in all competitions, which is a club record.

League Matches
Whilst members of the Essex Senior League during the 1976-77 season Town won 20 matches in a row starting 7 September 1976 with a 4-1 win at home to Canvey and ending on 10 May 1977 with a 1-1 draw at Chelmsford City Reserves.

UNBEATEN RUNS

The clubs longest unbeaten run, on record, occurred during the 1979-80 season, the clubs first as members of the Isthmian League.  On Saturday 13 October 1979 Town won 2-0 at Egham Town and went unbeaten until 1 March 1980 when they lost 3-0 at home to Hungerford Town, a total of 28 matches without defeat.

 

League Matches
Beginning during the 1978-79 season and ending the following season the clubs record for consecutive league matches without being beaten is 39 matches.  The run started with a 4-0 home win against Marlow on 21 April 1979 and ended on Saturday 15 March 1980 at Hungerford.

Biggest Attendance
The club’s biggest attendance is 4,582 for a pre-season match against West Ham United XI on 8 August 2017.  Prior to this the record had been 3,841 when West Ham had visited in 1977 to mark the installation of the clubs first floodlights.

F.A. Cup
The club’s biggest attendance for an F.A. Cup match came on 16 November 2007 when 3,400 saw Leatherhead come from behind to win the First Round Replay match at New Lodge.

F.A. Vase
The biggest attendance for an F.A. Vase match, and the clubs third largest, is 3,198 for the visit of Farnborough Town on 13 March 1976.  The previous season 3,078 watched Farnborough Town at New Lodge, again in the F.A. Vase.

F.A. Trophy
When Rushden & Diamonds visited New Lodge on 5 February 2000 for a Third-Round match in the Trophy a crowd of 2,027 saw the sides play out a goalless draw.  Diamonds won the replay 2-1 three days later.

Isthmian League
Non-League Day 2017 came on 7 October as Hendon visited Billericay.  A crowd of 1,988 saw Town win 4-3.

Athenian League Cup
On 13 May 1978 Billericay Town beat Grays Athletic 3-1 to win the Athenian League Cup, 1,902 fans witnessed the triumph.

National League South
The club’s biggest attendance in the National League South is 1,646, which came on New Year’s Day 2019 when Chelmsford City came to New Lodge.

Essex Senior League
Local derbies often produce bigger attendances.  On 19 April 1976 a crowd of 1,177 visited New Lodge to see Billericay Town beat Basildon United 1-0.

 

Essex Senior Trophy
Canvey Island visited New Lodge on 15 October 1977 in the Second Round of the Essex Senior Trophy.  Freddie Clayden scored four goals in front of a crowd of 1,171 supporters.

 

Athenian League
Billericay Town spent two seasons as members of the Athenian League, winning the title both times.  Their biggest crowd in this competition was 1,136 as Hoddesdon Town came to New Lodge on 29 August 1977 and saw Billericay Town win 3-1.

JT Clark Memorial Trophy
Billericay Town won this competition for five consecutive seasons.  The biggest attendance came against Borough rivals Basildon United on 4 October 1977 as 1,057 fans saw The Bee’s get beaten 1-0, thanks to a goal from Freddie Clayden.

Biggest Midweek Attendance
The club’s biggest attendance for a midweek match occurred on Tuesday 16 November 2017 in the First Round Replay of the F.A. Cup.  The gates were shut when the crowd reached 3,400 and Town lost 2-1.

​

Prior to this the record was set on 10 October 1995 when Chelmsford City came to New Lodge for an F.A. Cup Third Qualifying Round Reply.  The crowd of 1,704 saw Billericay Town win 2-1.

Essex Thameside Trophy
Billericay Town lifted the Essex Thameside Trophy on two occasions.  The last came on 21 May 1992 when they beat Ford United on penalties.  The match was witness by a crowd of 551.

F.A. Amateur Cup
Attendances from the early 1970’s are not well record, and are often rounded off rather than an accurate figure.

 

The highest recorded attendance for an F.A. Amateur Cup match came on 30 September 1972 when a recorded crowd of 500 saw Billericay Town beat Clapton 2-0.

 

Essex Elizabethan Trophy
Billericay Town competed in the Essex Elizabethan Trophy for two seasons whilst they were member of the Athenian League.

The largest recorded attendance in this competition is 435 as New Lodge was visited by Ford United.  Billericay Town won 3-0.
